About Elite Productions & Our DJ's

Elite Productions is a local DJ company owned by Joel & Ashlee Swartzlander. Joel handles all of the DJ aspects of the company while Ashlee handles the Wedding and Event Planning portion of the company.  Read all about Ashlee and Wedding/Event Planning Details HERE.

We have been in business for over 5 years now and Joel has DJ'd well over 100 weddings across Montana, Idaho & Nevada and Ashlee has planned numerous events and weddings. 

I (Joel) have been DJ'ing since I was 14 or so, starting out at the "Roller Kingdom" in Reno, NV. I learned quite a bit about the psychology of music there, learning a lot from the owner who was a DJ himself. Eventually I "graduated" into radio DJ'ing and did that for a few years in Reno, NV and started DJ'ing school dances and other various events around the city. Working with Brad (the roller rink owner) I began DJ'ing weddings alongside him, learning the "ins and outs" of being a successful and professional DJ. I then moved to Missoula, MT and became friends with someone who was also very passionate about music and I decided I was going to become a full time DJ. We built a very good, well known DJ business there, DJ'ing everything from weddings to holiday parties and everything in-between. I then met Ashlee who was in Missoula for a work project, fell in love, and got married. I then moved with her to Meridian, ID. She supported me and my business ideas and suggested I follow my dream to become the largest DJ "empire" in Idaho.. haha..

Which brings me to now.. I have successfully gained a partnership with David's Bridal, expanded my business into Event Planning with my wife, and hired/trained new DJ's to work under me.  Thank you all for taking the time to read this. I hope I can someday DJ your event and who knows.. maybe my dream to become a DJ "Empire" will come true... until then.. all I can do is try..

I was born in San Jose California and moved here when I was 16. I attended Centennial High School and am a graduate of Boise State University where I majored in Psychology. I have been in the customer service industry for over 10 years so I know how to listen to people and understand and acknowledge what they are requesting of me. A wedding is YOUR day, I am there just to help make it FUN and cater to your needs. I have been a DJ for a few years now and have successfully completed numerous wedding/receptions in Boise. I even have traveled as far as Cascade for a wedding/reception at a cabin (it was great hearing the music echo off the mountains). I started my DJ career as a kid back in California just messing around on 2 Radio Shack turntables. When I moved to Idaho I left those with a friend thinking I would return there but I have been in Idaho ever since and I love it here.

Fast forward many years into the future and here I am back to being a DJ with Joel, the most creative and knowledgeable DJ I have heard in a long time (shameless plug for you Joel on my BIO). My music interest range from old/new school hip hop to Miles Davis, I also listen to classical and country, even an opera once and a while.
